McAfee Virus warning "MalWarrior"
EasyLabeller missing error

Following the virus DAT update 5271 released on 11th April 2008 McAfee antivirus has reported EasyLabeller along with some other software as MalWarrior files.

It then proceeded to delete these files without warning so the applications no longer work.

We have submitted these files to McAfee AvertLabs who agree that this was a false alarm. This is the reply we received:

Our Senior Virus Research Engineers have examined the file in question and no virus was found.

This detection has been corrected in the current DAT set (5272).

We have checked the new DAT file 5272 and confirm that it works OK with EasyLabeller. The DAT file should be downloaded automatically by your system. You can check this by right mouse clicking the McAfee shield on the task bar and then click 'About'. It should be dated 11th April 2008 or later and be 'Virus Definitions' number 5272 or higher.

Unfortunately you will now need to reinstall EasyLabeller on any PCs which were affected by this McAfee update. (If EasyLabeller is working fine on a PC then it was unaffected and you do not need to take any further action.)

Please email info@control-it.uk.com for instructions on how to reinstall EasyLabeller together with a link to download the latest version.

If you do not have a current support contract with us for EasyLabeller then why not purchase one today? For an annual payment of £100.00 +VAT you get full telephone and remote dial-in support for any problems plus all software updates and bug fixes. Please contact us for details.

We apologise for the inconvenience. Unfortunately it has been out of our hands that McAfee have decided mistakenly that the software was a virus. There have been no reports of problems caused by any other AntiVirus software.
